Want to advance professionally?

Undergraduate:
The University of Maine at Augusta offers both an Associate’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science.  Most classes are available online.
Graduate: (to become a certified Library Media Specialist in Maine requires a Master’s degree)
The American Library Association has information on several accredited Master’s degree programs.

Just looking for Professional Development?

  • Maine has recently joined Webjunction which offers many library learning opportunities online.
  • The annual Reading Round-Up conference provides excellent opportunities as well.
  • Watch for announcements of the MASL and the Maine Library Association provide a joint library conference every fall.
