Total submission (excluding letters of support) should not exceed three typewritten pages. 1. Describe the nominee's outstanding and sustained contribution toward furthering the role of the library media center within education. 2. State the nominee's personal interpretation of library philosophy. This may include quoted material from school board minutes, written philosophy, public speeches, and published articles or other resources. 3. Describe the school system and the community served, using statistical data as appropriate, e.g. number and size of schools, average library media per pupil expenditures, number of school library media specialists and support staff. 4. Describe the library media situation at the time the nominee began the program and contrast it with the current situation. Compare and contrast the current and past state of library media development at the local level with that throughout the state. 5. Make a clear statement of current commitments and future plans for the improvement of school library media services. 6. Letters of support from library media personnel. local teachers, other administrators, or other appropriate personnel will be helpful and may be submitted separately.
